Quality assurance system

On the field of its products and services Masterplast is dedicated to continuous and permanent development.

With the help of internal and external audits the quality of its products and services is continuously monitored, evaluated, so that based on these feedbacks the satisfaction of Customers can always be kept on optimal level.

The aim of the company is to support the strengthening of market position and long-term development of present and future Partners – through innovative solutions and products.

The company group has 10 years of experience in the examination of materials, as well as of fiberglass products, in its highly equipped laboratory ETAG004 and EN 13 499 examinations are carried out.

For securing high manufacturing level it has started its operation according to the standards of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality assurance systems.

Expected time of ISO audit is July 2013.


Application

Fiberglass products are applied in several fields of application in the building industry. Usually it serves to strengthen cement, bitumen, latex or other coatings, to improve their mechanical properties.

The most prevalent field of application is the strengthening of the cementbased bedding layers of composite facade thermal insulation systems. In such composite systems, the light thermal insulation sheets are coated with thin (3-5 mm) cementbased mortar, improved with special additives, so that the fiberglass mesh is embedded as a strengthening layer. The fiberglass meshes applied in such field of application must comply with the requirements of ETAG 004 or EN 13499 - subject to the standard according to which the producer certified its thermal insulation system. Such meshes are typically produced in 145-160 grams weight with 4-6 mm grids.

The requirements of ETAG 004:

After ageing, the residual strength must be, at least:
- 50% of the strength in the as-delivered state
- and 1000 N/50 mm.

The most important requirements of EN 13499:

- the mean value of the tensile strength shall be greater than 2000 N/50 mm and
- the tensile strength after storage in aggressive medium, in accordance with EN 13496, shall be greater than 50 % of the initial tensile strength.

The strengthening of traditional cement- or lime rendering is also a common field of application. Here, the fiberglass mesh is embedded into to 15-30 mm thick rendering. These meshes are typically produced with larger grids (8-12 mm).

There is no standardized requirement system for these products. These reinforcing mesh products are available on the market with different unit weight and strength, high alkaline-resistance if an important property of each.
Fabrics with finer, 2-5 mm grids are frequently applied indoor to strengthen fillers and smooth renderings. There is no standardized requirement system for these fields of application, producer's recommendations are to be followed. These are usually called indoor fabrics. Alkaline resistance is an important requirement here as well.
Medium-grid, 4-6 mm fabrics are usually applied as strengthening layer of flexible coatings (bitumen or plastic insulations). There is no standardized requirement system for these products, producer's recommendations are to be followed. Alkaline resistance is required even in case of the coating material being cement or aggressively alkaline. As the fiberglass mesh typically doesn't stretch, polyester strengthening mesh or fabric has to be applied on places, where high elongation of the coating is necessary.
